Sharpen or Suffer
“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.”
-Abraham Lincoln
In business, the degree of execution determines whether you win or lose.
Some grab the ax and start chopping…
dull or not, 6 hours should be enough, right?
What if the trunk is a mile wide? How relevant is the sharpness of the ax?
a lot more now.
It doesn’t matter if you are strong or weak,
A dull ax will chop less and require more work.
A sharp ax will chop more and require less work.
A lightsaber will chop ALL and require NO work.
Sharpening the ax is the game of business.
Finding lightsabers is the game of business.
Funny part is, you get to keep your tool.
You now get more for your buck.
LEVERAGE.
Knowledge and skill-sets are high leverage. Avoid becoming a constraint of the business.
I’ve spent the last 6 months out collecting research… It’s been a process of learning and unlearning.
Questioning reality → reframing perception.
Taking different concepts to mash together and create an interconnected web — a latticework of ideas and mental models.
Think I found a lightsaber during my travels…
I feel like going to chop trees now.
Stay sharp.
